An armchair is a chair with armrests, and the wooden armchairs here differ mainly in the style of the back and seat. They include fixed chairs and a rocking armchair.
Slatted or Upholstered: Choosing a Style
The fixed armchairs have slatted backs and slatted seats, and one of them is listed in natural and walnut finishes.
The rocking armchair has an upholstered back and seat on a wooden frame. It is listed in orange, white and blue, with natural or walnut finishes. It is also listed with our rocking chairs, if you want to compare it with another rocker.
Space, Armrests and What to Check
Wooden chairs with arms are wider than chairs without them, so measure the space before you choose. Check the specifications on the product page, and confirm any dimension or seat height that is unclear before you order.
Use the photos to see the finish, the back and the seat of each armchair. To compare other types of seating, see all our chairs.
FAQs
How much space does an armchair need?
More than a chair without arms, because the armrests add width. Leave room beside the arms, space to pull the chair out and stand up, and clearance from walls and side tables.
Does any of these armchairs rock?
Yes, one: the upholstered rocking armchair, which moves back and forth on rockers. The slatted armchairs stay fixed. A rocker needs more floor space than a fixed chair, so allow for the rockers when you measure.
Do these armchairs have cushions?
Only the rocking armchair has an upholstered back and seat. The fixed armchairs have wooden seats, and none of them is listed with a cushion, so check the photos if the seat matters to you.
